Treats everyone like family. My daughter always looks forward to going to class and learning new things. Sensei and his family are great to be around we expect to be there for many years more.
We've been with this dojo for over 3 years. The instructors are great. They focus on teaching karate for defense and respect. We love this studio and are so glad we made the choice to come here.

Fantastic place to get in shape shed some lbs and learn some moves . the child classes are the best my daughter loves them 10/10 would recommend
This dojo is absolutely wonderful. Sensai Kikkin is such an amazing teacher, with such a strong yet always positive guidance of his students . His wife Monica is warm and beautiful with a genuinely loving nature and they both take great pride in their studio. Their two sons both help teach and you can see how great they are, how similar they are to their father. The dojo is peaceful yet fun and always very, very clean. My daughter and I feel so blessed we found them and all that she has learned from Sensai.
When I moved to Phoenix in January for graduate school, my dad encouraged me to start martial arts, specifically karate. I was hesitant at first, but promised him I would try it. After finding Ucelo Martial Arts, my life changed is so many incredible and unexpected ways! UMA has been one of the best things to happen to me and I’m so glad to be apart of this family. My mind is clearer, my body is stronger, and I have made relationships & connections that I will cherish forever. My anxiety is fading, I’m becoming more confident, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and getting 1% better every day! I tested for my orange belt yesterday and I cannot wait to keep going. I definitely recommend UMA to anyone who is interested in trying out martial arts, regardless of their age, gender, background, etc. You won’t regret it! :)
Sensei does amazing with the kids. From teaching fundamentals of karate to life lessons he breaks it down in ways that the little ninjas can appreciate. A great balance of discipline and silliness.
There aren’t enough positive words I can say about Ucelo Martial Arrs. The owners are kind, friendly, and welcoming of everyone, and treat each and every student with such respect. The skills and abilities that my child has gained through his time at the school span far more than sports. His attention span, focus, and listening skills are all things that have been improved since he has started this program. I would highly recommend!
Are you kidding me? The Ucelo family is the absolute best. What they have provided for our family is nothing short of amazing! Love them all! Watching the Ucelo family embrace, train, and support the entire community is a stellar example of how a business and Dojo should be run. Our lives revolve around Ucelo martial arts and provide a "rock-solid" foundation of life skills, conflict resolution, and personal communication training above and beyond there expertise with Martial Arts. Cannot say enough about Ucelo Martial Arts and recommend them to any family interested in living their best lives.
Love love the whole Ucelo family!! Kikin and Monica make you feel like you’re part of their family! We have been going here for 5 years and matthew has learned so much from friendship skills to his skills on the mat.. can’t think of any better place to take your children.
My Daughter trained 9 years at UMA. White belt to first degree black belt. Earned not bought. The training and discipline received is amazing and life changing. This is a real dojo. There will be blood sweat and tears as they progress, as well as friends for life. As a parent I consider Master Ucelo and his family a dear friend of mine now. Many parents will actually engage in the adult program after seeing the immediate results of their kids. I can honestly say my daughter excelled in everything after the years spent here. Now 4 weeks away from going to a university on scholarship. I am proud and happy. Well spent investment. And for the dads out there…yes my daughter CAN kick my butt, that is priceless. Great training, bilingual, welcoming. Just go and see. This is real. UMA!
When my daughter walked into that first class she was so intimidated that she cried, Ms, Mila invited her into the dojo, took her hand in such a calm and supportive way that she just fell for it, and she loved it. Now she is working towards her blue belt and couldn’t be more excited.
Ucelo Martial Arts instructors are top-notch. They are knowledgeable, skilled, and have a genuine passion for teaching. They create a positive and supportive environment for the students, and they are always encouraging and pushing them to do their best.

Great family friendly environment our family loves UMA! There is a class for everyone and the instructors are awesome. Definitely recommend it, once you start you can't stop come see for yourself!
The moment I walked into this academy I felt such a welcoming vibe! The academy was so nice and clean. Everyone there treats you like family! The owner takes pride in his academy and all of his students! I would highly recommend this martial arts academy !
The discipline, respect, self confidence that my kids are getting from this program is too much to adequately express the Ucelo family shares so much with so many.

Love this place! Professor kikin and all the higher belts are all willing to help and to give advice and coaching. I would recommend this school to children all the way to adults.
The family environment is very friendly and welcoming. The professors are awesome we are enjoying every second of class. the ethics and professionalism deserve a 5 out of 5. My 7 years old love this class.
